Itinerary for 3 days - Regular

  • DAY 1 With transportation: Road journey to Huasquila Lodge, stopping to observe humming birds on route. Without transportation: Arrival to lodge 1pm yourselves. After lunch visit to waterfall. Night lesson in chocolate making.
  • DAY 2 Jungle trek to Mondayaku Waterfall, and Guayusa plantation visit. Afternoon visit to Kichwa community. Nocturnal walk looking for frogs & insects.
  • DAY 3 Early breakfast and check-out. With transportation: Soak in the Papallacta hot springs on the return journey. Without transportation: make your own way home after check-out.

Access - transportation

  • You can choose to hire this tour with private transportation (pick up from either a Quito hotel or the Quito airport) OR to make your own way to the lodge (by bus from Quitumbe to Tena, one-way ticket is 7 USD.
  • You will have to get off in a small town called COTUNDO, from where you can take a Taxi to Huasquila for approx. 4 USD.
